On December 11, 2020, within the framework of the International Exhibition, timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of our country, a ceremony of signing a number of international documents, including the trilateral Project Document "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the Development Program of the Organization the United Nations and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
From the Turkmen side, the document was signed by the Chairman of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, Maksat Khudaykulyev, from the UNDP side, the document was signed by the acting UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Natia Natsvlishvili and on behalf of UNCTAD, under the document at the meeting, by video link, was put by UNCTAD Regional Coordinator - Dmitry Godunov.
The goal of this project is to ensure the effective introduction of the Single Window principle by simplifying and harmonizing interdepartmental business processes, strengthening interactions between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and other state bodies involved in control over import and export operations, strengthening the potential of Turkmenistan in the world, regional economic integration and international trade.
Within the framework of the signed project, UNDP and UNCTAD will provide the Turkmen side with appropriate technical assistance and support for the implementation of electronic documents in priority sectors of the economy and further automation, and modernization of customs clearance procedures, using the “Single Window” concept and capacity building.
It should be noted that the project is part of the National Program "Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025", which is being implemented at the initiative of our esteemed President.
