Spain beat England in the 2023 Women's World Cup final

Spain beat England 1-0 in the 2023 Women's World Cup final held in Australia. The only goal of the match was scored by Spanish defender Olga Carmona in the 29th minute with a great pass from Mariona Caldentei.

For Spaniards, this is the first world title in history. They became the first European team to win the Women's World Cup since Germany triumphed in 2007. For the British, silver was the best achievement at the world championships.

In the match for third place, Sweden defeated Australia 2-0. The Swedes scored one goal in each half and won their fourth World Cup bronze medal. The Australians had to settle for fourth place, which is their record result in the Women's World Cup.
