SOCAR is the Premier Partner of the XXVIII International Conference and Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2023" (OGT 2023), which will be held on October 25-27 in Ashgabat.
SOCAR, registered in Switzerland in December 2007, is the marketing arm of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). It was established to trade Azeri oil and has since significantly expanded its presence in the international market.
SOCAR has been successful in investing in logistics operations and oil trading. The company is unique in combining the advantages of a state-owned enterprise and an independent commodity trading company.
SOCAR has established partnerships worldwide and invested in physical infrastructure projects to shape trade flows. The company focuses on further expansion through increased trade in light crude oil and LNG fractions. It also delivers Azeri crude through the Western Route (WREP) pipelines in Georgia, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) in Turkey, and Baku-Novorossiysk in Russia.
Developing the Dostluk field will open up new opportunities for the country to export natural gas to the West. The field has about 60 million tons of oil and natural gas reserves of 100 billion cubic metres.
The International Conference and Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan" (OGT 2023) is organised by the State Concerns Turkmengaz (Turkmen Gas), Turkmennebit (Turkmen Oil), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the State Corporation Turkmengeologiya (Turkmen Geology) in partnership with the Turkmen Forum and with the support of the British company GaffneyCline.
SOCAR is confident that it will play an essential role in the increasing trade between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two governments on the joint exploration and development of the Dostluk hydrocarbon field.
The event will assemble heads of national oil and gas companies, heads of leading international and financial organisations, and representatives of leading energy companies to discuss solutions to achieving a zero methane future.
