The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) plans to open a representative office in Turkmenistan, reports online radio SNG.fm.
Emin Alekperov, Deputy Head of the Department for Science and Technology of the SOCAR head office, announced this at the International Oil and Gas Conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2022”, which started in Ashgabat.
According to him, SOCAR is engaged in exploration, development, production, transportation and processing of oil and gas. The company has joint ventures and plants in a number of countries, representative offices in more than 10 countries, as well as a research and design institute, whose branches are located in Uzbekistan and a network of filling stations in Switzerland.
Alekperov stressed that SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf held a meeting with the Turkmen side, at which they discussed the topic of transporting natural resources, as well as the issue of opening an office of the company in Turkmenistan. “This will further effectively develop bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas and logistics sectors”, the report says.
Earlier, SOCAR Vice President Elshad Nasirov also shared his plans to open a branch and office of the company in Turkmenistan within the “Dostlug” project.
