Snowfall in Antalya for the first time in 29 years

For the first time in 29 years, snow fell in Antalya, Turkey.According to business-gazeta.ru, the last time such a snowfall was recorded in this region was on January 7, 1993.

Then the height of the snow cover was 5 cm.Today, precipitation fell in the form of wet snow.In several areas of the Sea of Marmara, up to 50-60 cm of snow has already fallen.

The snowstorm, which began on January 21, is predominantly raging in northwestern Turkey.In Istanbul, which suffered the most from the bad weather, residents were banned from using personal vehicles, and flights at the local airport were also suspended.

Residents of regions where snowfalls continue are advised to stay at home if possible and not go out into the streets.
