A new city of Arkadag in Turkmenistan will be presented in New York.Its presentation is planned to be organized jointly with the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan as part of the upcoming High Political Forum in July this year.

According to him, the city of Arkadag, which is based on the concept of a "smart" city, fully meets the requirements of the 11th SDG "Ensuring openness, security, resilience and sustainability of cities and towns."
The head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry proposed, following the results of the above-mentioned forum, to organize a round table in August on the comprehensive measures taken in Turkmenistan to implement the SDGs, with the participation of representatives of UN agencies.
In addition, proposals were made to place on the website of the State Committee on Statistics (www.stat.gov.tm) a platform with an information database on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Turkmenistan, as well as the participation of the Turkmen side in the SDG summit, which will be held in September this year within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
Having listened to the information, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized that the constructive partnership with the United Nations is invariably one of the priority vectors of the foreign policy of the neutral Motherland.
Having approved the submitted proposals, the head of state noted that long-term cooperation with the UN, which is of a strategic nature, covers a wide range of areas and has great potential.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed the intention of Turkmenistan to continue to take an active and proactive part in the efforts of the international community to implement the SDGs, making a specific contribution to ensuring prosperity and sustainable development in the regional and global dimensions.
In this context, the head of state instructed the vice-premier, head of the Foreign Ministry to continue the relevant work on a comprehensive, systematic basis, the Watan news program of the Turkmen television reported.
