The public affairs office of the President of Uzbekistan reports that on 14-15 July President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhammedov is scheduled to pay a state visit to Uzbekistan upon the invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The sides will discuss increasing the volume of reciprocal trade, industrial cooperation, transport and transit potential, the implementation of important projects in water management and facilitating interregional contacts.
The Presidents are expected to exchange view on the international agenda and discuss сurrent issues of regional cooperation. It is envisaged that the joint statement will be adopted and a set of bilateral documents will be signed.
The agenda also includes the meeting in Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of Uzbekistan and a visit to attractions in the city of Samarkand, the report says.
The public affairs office reminds that within the framework of preparations to the visit of the Turkmen President the session of the joint intergovernmental commission on water management was held in the city of Dashoguz on 1-2 July.
On 12 July Tashkent hosted the Uzbek-Turkmen scientific and practical conference.
In addition, Bukhara is hosting the first forum of regions, the session of Business Council and the exhibition featuring the products of leading companies of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
The delegation from Turkmenistan was sent to Uzbekistan on 12-14 July to participate in these events.
Let us recall that Chairperson of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov discussed the upcoming visit of his son to Uzbekistan with Shavkat Mirziyoyev during telephone negotiations on 29 June.
Serdar Berdymukhammedov’s first official visit to Russia was held on 10-11 June.
