On 3 May, 2022 President Serdar Berdymukhammedov held a working meeting with executives of the provinces, the state information agency TDH reports.
The khyakim of Akhal velayat Yazmukhammed Gurbanov gave a progress report on completing the cotton and potato sowing campaigns, the growing of silkworm cocoons as well as finalizing the construction of various facilities.
Serdar Berdymukhammedov reminded the head of the province that it was time to launch the mowing season and instructed to prepare combine harvesters and automobile transport”.
The head of state also “called for intensifying the silkworm cocoon production” and reported on slowing down construction-in-progress within the framework of Turkmenistan’s National Agricultural Program and 2019-2025 Social and Economic Development Program.
The head of state issued a reprimand to the khyakim for shortcomings related to the implementation of the National Agricultural Program and instructed to remedy them as soon as possible.
Following the progress report of the khyakim of Dashoguz velauat Nazarmyrat Nazarmyradov the President reprimanded him for shortcomings in the rice sowing campaign and the implementation of the National Agricultural Program.
At the Cabinet session held on 29 April Deputy Prime Minister Esenmyrat Orazgeldiev informed the President on the rice growing campaign in Dashoguz and Lebap velayats.
Later the same day the head of state signed the resolution “On rice production in Turkmenistan in 2022”, pursuant to which 18,300 hectares of rice will be sowed in the two provinces to ensure the harvest target of 82,4000 tons.
The khyakim of Mary velayat Dovranberdy Annaberdyev was also reprimanded for shortcomings related to the implementation of the National Agricultural Program.
Following the presentations, the Deputy Prime Minister Orazgeldiev gave a progress reports. He also reported on the implementation of various agricultural works and informed the President that land tenants engaged in silkworm production in Mary and Lebap velayats were handing over cocoons to the state.
The President instructed to fulfill contractual obligations in cotton production, protecting crops from pests and intensifying the wheat production program.
