On 29 April, 2021 a summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) kicked off in Kazan, Russia.Representatives of five EAEU member states, including Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia attended the meeting.
In addition, Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzod and Deputy Chairperson of Turkmenistan’s Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdymukhammedov are expected to take part in the event as observers, the news outlet “Kommersant” reports.
According to the news outlet, several bilateral meetings were held on 29 April. However, it has not been reported whether Serdar Berdymukhammedov had any meetings.
On 26 April, 2021, during a telephone conversation President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov told Russia’s President Vladimir Putin that a deputy Prime Minister will be representing Turkmenistan, without specifying the name.
