Serdar Berdimuhamedov: Turkmenistan Welcomes Declaration on Climate and Health

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated that Turkmenistan welcomes the Declaration on Climate and Health during the COP-28 climate summit in Dubai on Friday, the Turkmen official media reports.

"Recognising the importance of coordination between national and sub-national governments in the field of climate change, Turkmenistan is willing to support the COP-28 Coalition Initiative for a multi-level partnership with high ambitions to combat climate changes," said Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The Head of State also expressed willingness to strengthen cooperation with all stakeholders at regional and global levels in agriculture, ecology, energy, finance, and health care to achieve the goals of the Emirates Declaration, taking into consideration the national interests of Turkmenistan.

As outlined in his speech, Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced Turkmenistan's accession to the Global Methane Pledge and reaffirmed the initiative to open a UN Regional Centre for Climate Change Technologies in Central Asia in Turkmenistan.
