The government delegation of Turkmenistan led by Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Deputy Chairman of the Government in charge of economic and financial issues, will visit Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent in the near future.
The upcoming visit was discussed during the phone talk of Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov with his Uzbek counterpart Abdulaziz Kamilov on Monday.
The heads of the foreign ministries discussed further development of bilateral relations in light of the agreements reached between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan during the informal CIS summit held in December last year in St. Petersburg, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported on its website.
In this context, it was underlined that in accordance with the invitation of the Uzbek side, the Turkmen government delegation will visit Tashkent in the near future to hold meetings and talks on expanding Turkmen-Uzbek economic cooperation.
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with Turkmenistan in January-November period of 2021 reached $626.1 million, a 34.5% increase compared to the same period of 2020.
