Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the 16th Cooperation Forum “Central Asia - Republic of Korea”, announced the “Watan” news program.
The head of state noted the relevance of the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Central Asian states with the OSCE Secretary General that was held the day before, at which issues of regional cooperation were discussed.
In addition, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of the work of the 16th Cooperation Forum “Central Asia - Republic of Korea”, which will consider ways to strengthen partnership in various areas, such as energy, digital technologies, economic security, tourism and healthcare.
Discussing bilateral relations, the head of Turkmenistan and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan emphasized that relations between the countries are built on the principles of equality, mutual respect and trust. As noted, the interstate dialogue is based on the ancient traditions of friendship and good neighborliness of the Turkmen and Tajik peoples.
During the meeting, the successful nature of interaction between both countries in the international arena was noted with satisfaction. In particular, it was noted that productive cooperation has been established within authoritative organizations and multilateral formats.
At the same time, it was emphasized that effective partnership mechanisms have been established in a variety of areas, a solid legal framework has been created, fruitful contacts are being carried out at the highest level, and interaction is being maintained between the governments of the two countries.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov placed special emphasis on the significance of the results of his working visit to Tajikistan to participate in the fifth anniversary Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
As noted, the important documents adopted as a result of these political events are aimed at further consolidating joint efforts in the name of strengthening stability and achieving prosperity in the region.
Emphasizing the high level of dynamically developing trade, economic, cultural, scientific and educational ties, the head of state confirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to further promote constructive cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan for the benefit of the two fraternal peoples.
