Today, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov left on a working visit to the People's Republic of China to participate in the “Central Asia-China” summit to be held in the city of Xi'an, announced the “Watan” news program of the Turkmen television on the evening air.
Officials saw the head of state off at the Ashgabat International Airport.
This is the second visit of the President of Turkmenistan to China this year, which indicates the regular nature of contacts at the highest level.
Within the framework of the current working visit, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is also scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping. As a result of the regular talks at the top, it is planned to sign a number of documents that will supplement the legal framework of bilateral cooperation.
As for the upcoming “Central Asia-China” summit, it is of particular importance in the context of further deepening interstate cooperation, defining its priorities in the light of new realities and prospects for the future.
Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China established diplomatic relations on January 6, 1992. In 2013, the leaders of the countries signed the Joint Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership Relations.
