Serdar Berdimuhamedov Arrives in Kazan to Attend EAEU Meeting

The Vice-Premier of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Thursday arrived in the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation to take part in a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, the Press Service of the President of Tatarstan said in a press release.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin greeted the Turkmen delegation led by the Vice-Premier at the Kazan international airport, according to the statement.

The prime ministers of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan Mikhail Mishustin, Roman Golovchenko, Askar Mamin, Ulukbek Maripov, Kohir Rasulzoda and Abdulla Aripov, and the acting Head of the Government of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, also arrived in the capital of Tatarstan to take part in the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting.

The meeting will be held from April 29 to April 30 in face-to-face format with the participation of the heads of government of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The EAEU is an economic union of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Moldova, Uzbekistan and Cuba are observers to organization.

In a telephone conversation on Monday, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked President of Russia Vladimir Putin for inviting the Turkmen side to the EAEU meeting, as an honorary guest, and noted that a high-ranking delegation led by the Vice-Premier of Turkmenistan will participate in the meeting.
