Seoul will build world's tallest Ferris wheel without spokes

The Republic of Korea plans to build the world's largest Ferris wheel without spokes - "Seoul Ring" with a height of 180 meters, according to the official website of the Seoul government.

The ring will be the second tallest after the 250-meter "Eye of Dubai" in the UAE, and the largest ferris wheel without spokes. Now the record belongs to the 145-meter ring in Shandong province in China.

The Korean wheel will be made in the form of an annular tube, inside which cabins with panoramic windows move along rounded rails due to magnets. Inside it will be located 36 cabins for 25 people. According to preliminary estimates, the capacity of the attraction will be up to 12 000 people per day.

About 411 million dollars has been allocated for construction, it is planned to start it in 2025 and complete it in 2027.

We remind that in 2012, the Ferris wheel with an outer circle diameter of 57 meters, towering in the Alem cultural and entertainment center in Ashgabat, was recognized as the largest closed-type Ferris wheel in the world today.
