Seminar on digitalization of customs processes held in Ashgabat

A seminar on improving the electronic data flow related to customs clearance of goods and digitalization of customs processes was held in the building of the Central Office of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan from November 18 to 20. The seminar was attended by employees of the Department for the Automation of Customs Procedures.

The event with the participation of experts from the Customs Administration of the State Revenue Service of Latvia Olga Vikaine and Marianna Asoyeva was organized by the Border Management Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10) in cooperation with the USAID project, according to the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The training was aimed at assisting in assessing the current situation with the digitalization and automation of customs processes, existing customs information systems, electronic services provided by customs, as well as the level of development and integration of the Single Window.

New approaches to the automation of customs processes were discussed, including the use of artificial intelligence in customs IT systems. Particular attention was paid to the use of electronic customs declarations, as well as the degree of use of electronic services in Turkmenistan.

Following the event, experts provided recommendations for the further development and improvement of customs declaration systems, as well as the optimization of related customs processes, the source notes.
