Second Round of Export Platform Program Starts in Turkmenistan

Export trainings continue in Turkmenistan for producers of processed food and soft drinks, as well as for manufacturers of packaging materials and consumer goods such as household chemicals, hygiene, beauty, and health products.

The Future Growth Initiative of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in cooperation with the EBRD’s Advice for Small Businesses program have announced the start of the second round of Export Platform program to provide Turkmen companies with consultative training on promoting their exports.

The Export Platform program aims to promote exports of products from Turkmen companies with the support of an international expert, according to the USAID press release issued Wednesday.

USAID/FGI and EBRD/ASB will select four local companies with strong export potential that have been operating in the above areas for at least a year. The participating companies are expected to be ready to provide information on some qualitative and quantitative indicators of the enterprise's activity, including exports. Applications will be accepted until May 15.

If an applicant company is not a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, it is recommended to apply for a CCI membership after the start of the project.

Specialists from the select companies will have access to strategic and operational-level consultations and will be accompanied in the process of preparation for export.

The first round of the Export Platform program in Turkmenistan took place last October with the participation of 10 companies.
