Scientists of Turkmenistan join forces to implement the State Program for the Development of Biotechnology

A scientific and practical conference was held in Ashgabat on the implementation of the new “State Program for the Integrated Development of Biotechnology in Turkmenistan for 20242028”, approved by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The event was an important step in the effective implementation of this program, writes the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.

Representatives of various scientific and educational structures conducting research in the field of biotechnology gathered at the Technology Center of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. They shared innovative experience in this area and put forward proposals for joining forces for the successful implementation of the new program.

The conference was attended by employees of the National Institute of Education, Engineering and Technology, Turkmen State, Agricultural and Medical Universities. They examined the formation of the bioindustry in the context of innovative development of the agricultural sector, cultivation of medicinal plants and the role of biopharmaceuticals.

Scientists from the Academy of Sciences focused on the role of biotechnology in the development of the bioindustry, “green” production, the creation of a bioeconomy and the prospects for food biotechnology in the country.

Participants emphasized that the Program will bring together leading scientists to enhance the scientific component of the bioindustry, stimulate “green” innovation and create a new bioeconomy.

Within the framework of the forum, an exhibition was organized demonstrating the current developments and achievements of Turkmen scientists in priority biotechnological research.
