Today, specialists of the Scientific Research Institute under the State Concern Turkmengas (SC Turkmengas) and representatives of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) discussed the prospects for further fruitful mutual cooperation during an online seminar in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
The event was organized by the SC Turkmengas in partnership with Turkmen Forum with the aim to establish cooperation with the world’s leading scientific centers and intensify the exchange of experience between Scientific Research Institute and SPE, as well as discuss the prospects of accession of local petroleum engineers to SPE membership.
The seminar saw brief reviews by specialists of the Institute on gas fields in Turkmenistan who shared experience on their development.
During the seminar, Ignatiy Volnov, SPE Regional Director, made a presentation on the importance of reservoir probability modeling in decision making. Volnov also shared his experience in the development of large gas carbonate deposits in the countries of the region.
Denis Fomin, Head of the Field Development Department, made a presentation on experience in the development of gas wells in complex carbonate reservoirs at different stages of development. This topic was selected as a priority by the specialists of the Institute under the SC Turkmengaz.
In addition, Yaroslava Orlova, Lead Coordinator of SPE Non-Commercial Projects in Russia and the Caspian Sea, spoke in detail about the activities of the Society and the prospects for accession to SPE. She also introduced the plan of upcoming events in the region and the SPE e-library.
During the event, the participants discussed such issues as the modern methodology for conducting gas-dynamic research and the use of the latest technologies in the development and drilling of gas fields.
