Schools For Nearly 5.5 Thousand Students Open in Turkmenistan

On Wednesday, seven modern schools were opened in cities, etraps and settlements of Turkmenistan’s Ahal and Lebap velayats, in which 5,440 students will be able to receive education, the country’s official media reports.

The new 42nd secondary school in Babarap village of Ahal velayat’s Gokdepe etrap was named after Annak Sahetmuradov, the teacher and a participant in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The school is designed to accommodate 960 schoolchildren.

Four more schools opened in Ahal velayat: in the city of Anew - for 720 student, in Ak Bugday etrap - for 960 students, in Babadayhan settlement of Tejen etrap - for 640 students and in Babadayhan etrap - for 960 students.

Modern schools were also opened in the settlements of Chovdur and Lebaba in Sayat etrap of Lebap velayat. Each of them will be able to accommodate 600 children.

All educational institutions were built by private enterprises - members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET). As part of the celebrations on the occasion of the opening of new schools, first-graders on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were presented with Bilimli notebooks locally produced by Agzybirlik Tilsimaty company.
