School Olympiad Season Kicks Off

The first stage of the School Subject Olympiads entitled “Altyn Asyryň Altyn Zehinleri” for the academic year 2020-2021 has commenced.

On December 18, the first intellectual competitions began in all schools of the capital. Students will have to demonstrate their talents and abilities, and first of all, their outstanding knowledge of school subjects.

Gifted and talented children will participate in a total of ten-plus School Subject Olympiads to show off their skills in English, Russian and Literature, Maths, Physics, Biology, Geography, History and other school subjects.

Students of the capital’s schools specializing in specific subjects will compete separately in Chemistry, Informatics, Physics, Biology and Maths.

The Olympiads will be made up of four stages.The first stage is a school-wide competition open to students in Years 6-11.The second stage, an etrap-wide contest, will be open to students in Years 7-11 and will take place in January and March of 2021.

Students in Years 9-11 from the capital and velayats will compete in the third stage in February and March of 2021.The final stage, a countrywide competition will be held for students in Years 10-11 in April of 2021.

Eleventh-year students who took first and second places in the countrywide competition and first-placed students in the third-stage competition in last year’s Altyn Asyryň Altyn Zehinleri School Subject Olympiads will be qualified for the relevant stage without competing in the preliminary rounds.
