The third day of competition at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will be held on July 29. Turkmenistan will be represented in several sports. This is the Olympic debut for both athletes.
Judoka Maysa Pardayeva will compete in the 57 kg weight category, where 28 participants will compete. In her first match, she will face 29 years old Cai Qi from China, bronze medalist of the 2023 World Cup in Warsaw, the 2023 Grand Slam in Kazakhstan, the 2023 Grand Prix in Dushanbe and the 2024 Asian Championships in Hong Kong.
Maysa and Cai Qi have met three times before: the Chinese won at the Grand Slam in Tbilisi last March, and Pardayeva prevailed in the subsequent two fights for the bronze medal at the XIX Summer Asian Games in Hangzhou and the Grand Slam tournament in Antalya, Türkiye.
Aynura Primova will take part in the 100m backstroke competition, where 36 athletes will compete.The competition will be held in three stages: preliminary round, semi-final and final.
Based on the results of the preliminary round, 16 athletes with the best time will advance to the semi-final.Then 8 people with the best results will advance to the final, where the winners will be determined.
