Saudi Arabian scientists visited Ashgabat

A delegation from the King Abdulaziz Scientific Center of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, headed by its executive director Turki Al-Shuwayir, visited Ashgabat.

According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the delegation’s visit was organized within the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in February 2009.

During their visit to Ashgabat, members of the Saudi delegation took part in cultural and scientific events organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture, the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Embassy of Saudi Arabia.

Thus, on August 1, a meeting with the delegation was held at the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

Within the framework of the exhibition “Two Holy Mosques Throughout the Centuries, the Beauty of Manuscripts and Their Rare Copies”, a seminar “Arabic Manuscripts in Turkmenistan” was held, where scholars from the two countries discussed the scientific value of manuscripts written in Arabic.

A visit to the State Historical and Cultural Reserve “Nisa”, the State Museum and the State Library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan was organized for the guests from Saudi Arabia, the source notes.
