Saudi Arabia hosts first swimsuit fashion show

For the first time in the country's history, Saudi Arabia hosted a fashion show where models showed off swimsuits.

The swimsuit collection was presented by Moroccan designer Yasmina Kanzal. She focused on one-piece designs in red, beige and blue, with bare shoulders and, in some, partially exposed midriffs.

The fashion show was a real breakthrough in a conservative country. As Yasmina Kanzal noted, “this is a historical moment, because such an event is being held here for the first time.”

Despite the strict morals, the designer decided to demonstrate swimsuits that are not only elegant, but also reflect the originality of the Arab world.

The debut swimsuit shows at Red Sea Fashion Week was held at the St. Regis resort, located on the west coast of Saudi Arabia. Mail.ru reports this with reference to The Free Press Journal.
