Farmers in Turkmenistan’s northern velayat of Dashoguz are again hoping to get rich harvests of mung beans and noyba beans in autumn. In the etrap of S.Turkmenbashi, 700 hectares of land were allocated for mung beans, and 30 hectares for noyba beans, the country’s official media reported on Thursday.
Farmers will also grow 200 hectares of mung beans in Gurbansoltan-Eje etrap of Dashoguz.
In total, farmers will grow 3,700 hectares of mung beans and 250 hectares of noyba beans in Dashoguz velayat. Farmers hope to repeat last year's success and harvest them much more than planned, according to the report.
Last month, farmers in Dashoguz velayat completed the planting of autumn potatoes. This year in the northern region of the country, the bulk of the potato plantations is located in Gurbansoltan-eje etrap, the largest producer of tubers in the region. A large volume of autumn potatoes will also be grown in the S.A. Niyazov and Gubadag etraps.
Potato growers expect to harvest at least 140 centners of tubers per hectare before the onset of cold weather.
