Russian-Turkmen University Project in Ashgabat in Final Stage  Russian Ambassador

The draft intergovernmental agreement on the establishment of a Russian-Turkmen university in Ashgabat is in the final stages of approval. This was stated by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin at a press conference dedicated to the results of bilateral cooperation in 2024.

He also noted that as part of expanding educational cooperation, the Russian government has significantly increased the quota for applicants from Turkmenistan. This year, the number of budget places for Turkmen students was increased to 500, and this figure will be maintained in the admissions campaign for the 2025-2026 academic year.

To date, more than 47 thousand students from Turkmenistan are already studying at Russian universities, who prefer educational institutions in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Saratov and Rostov-on-Don, the head of the diplomatic mission added.
