Russia launches tours to Turkmenistan

The Russian tour operator ITM GROUP jointly with “Turkmenistan Airlines” is launching tours to Turkmenistan.

Tourists are offered combined travel packages to Turkmenistan for 2 nights/3 days with further vacations in Thailand, as well as a guided tour for 4 nights/5 days.

Departure cities include Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Kazan. Let us recall that the flight Ashgabat-Kazan was launched in late 2016.

The cost of the combined holiday package depends of the departure city and the accommodation in Thailand. A tour including two days in Ashgabat and a week in Pattaya approximately costs 140,000 Rubles or about $2400.

The tour which comprises a five day stay in Ashgabat with excursions to the cities of Mary and Dashoguz and a week in Thailand are offered at 195,000 Rubles or the equivalent of $3360.

A guide will be constantly accompanying visitors during their stay in Turkmenistan.

Those who wish to visit Turkmenistan are required to pay a visa on arrival fee in the amount of $153. Tourists should apply for a tour in advance since the visa application procedure takes 10 days.

“For the time being tourists need to apply for a visa to Turkmenistan to the Moscow Consulate office. The procedure takes a week and yet, no positive results are guaranteed.

Often visas are denied. Now residents of Tatarstan are offered a simplified visa application procedure.Upon arrival in Ashgabat a visa for the duration of stay will be stamped in the passport at passport control, similar to visas which used to be issued in Egypt.

Holiday makers only need to pay a visa fee of 153 US dollars”, RBK quotes Andrey Chistyakov, deputy CEO of the tour operator.

Andrey Chistyakov did not specify whether the simplified visa procedure applies to all residents of Russia or only of Tatarstan, which is a subject of the Russian Federation.
