President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the digital system, at which key issues of the country’s life were discussed and important decisions were made in various areas of state policy. This is stated in the message of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Legislative activity
Chairman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova reported on the results of the sixth meeting of the national parliament of the seventh convocation, held on July 13.Amendments were adopted to the Budget, Sanitary Codes, the Code on Social Protection of the Population, as well as to the laws on physical education and sports, scientific and technical policy and others.
Issues of ratification of international conventions and agreements were discussed.The President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of modernizing the country’s legal framework in accordance with modern realities.
Intellectual property
A resolution on fees for state registration of integrated circuit topologies was approved.This decision is related to the implementation of the Law “On the Legal Protection of Topologies of Integrated Circuits”, adopted in 2023.
It was noted that Turkmenistan is a party to 15 international treaties in the field of intellectual property and actively cooperates with WIPO and EAPO.
Oil and gas industry
The modernization of the facilities of the Turkmenbashy oil processing complex, in particular, the expansion of liquefied gas storage and shipment capacities, was discussed. The President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of further development of the oil and gas industry and increasing production capacity.
Agriculture
The progress of seasonal agricultural work is considered, including harvesting wheat, its transportation to granaries, caring for cotton and preparing for autumn sowing. The President of Turkmenistan instructed to ensure strict control over all stages of agricultural work and pay special attention to the procurement of high-quality seeds.
Digitalization
Progress in the digitalization of public services was reported, in particular on the “Central Electronic System” project in Ashgabat. The development of the digital services portal of the capital’s hyakimlik and the SANLY ŞÄHER mobile application was noted. The President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of further development of digital services for the convenience of citizens.
Trade
The organization of school fairs from August 1 to September 5 was discussed. It is planned to provide the country's markets with stationery, school uniforms and other necessary goods. The President of Turkmenistan instructed to organize mobile retail outlets and provide them with everything necessary for schoolchildren and students.
Culture
The international film festival Gorkut ata has been approved for November 4-5. Within the framework of the festival, a forum of leaders of the cinematographic sphere of the Turkic states, film screenings and master classes of famous foreign actors and directors are planned.
Sport
The preparation for the participation of the Turkmen team in the Olympic Games in Paris is considered.Athletes of Turkmenistan will take part in competitions in judo, weightlifting, athletics and aquatics.
The President of Turkmenistan instructed to ensure a high organizational level of the farewell ceremony for the national team, which will be held on July 22 at the Sport hotel.
International cooperation
A plan to strengthen cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources for 2025-2030 was discussed. An international conference is planned to be held in September with the participation of representatives of the UN and other international organizations. The President of Turkmenistan approved the proposals for the preparation of the plan and instructed to begin the corresponding work.
