The capital held unscheduled VIII assembly of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan where key objectives of the one of the leading political organization of the country have been discussed.
Members of the Government, Mejlis deputies, representatives of the ministries and departments, scientific and large non-governmental institutions, artistic associations and mass media took part in the forum with the delegates.
The participants has listened with the enthusiasm the Greetings of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the delegates of the assembly, which highlighted the significance of current forum that is to be important social and political event of the year held under slogan “Turkmenistan is the Heart of the Great Silk Road”.
During the session, the delegates summed up the outcomes of work performed for the period under review and discussed the main directions of the activity of the Democratic Party in the nearest future.
Chairman of the Democratic Party Kasymguly Babayev presented report on this subject.
As it was noted, the Party founded right after the declaration of the sovereignty of Turkmenistan became active social and political power and is highly respected by the citizens of the country.
Number of the members of the Party, which carries out its activity in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the Law on Political Parties and other regulations, grows steadily.
At present time, 57 Party Committees including 5 regional, 12 city and 45 district ones as well as around 5,000 initial party organization operate in the country.In total, it unites more than 211,000 citizens.
Hence, the number of the Party members has grown on 23,000 people since the last VII assembly.It is pleasant that there are many young members in the Party.
Such important fact that there are more than 100,000 women in the Party, which supports better organization of social and political work for the popularization of national traditions and customs, development of culture and arts, upbringing of growing generation based on family values, has been noted.
The elections of the Mejlis deputies, members of the People’ councils and Gengeshys on March 25 were bright evidence of steadfast character and success of fundamental democratic changes expanded in Turkmenistan by the initiative and under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
It is remarkable that there are 3257 representatives of the Democratic Party, who managed to win the trust of the electorate among political variety and multiparty system, among the elected deputies of the Parliament, members of the People’s councils and Gengeshys.
The main target of the policy held by the President of the country is to provide prosperous and peaceful life of Turkmen people and to make the opportunities for creative work and realization of civil rights and freedoms.
The essence of this policy was reflected in slogan “The State is for human being!”.National, branch and regional programmes are successfully realized to provide innovative development of the country.
Activists of the Democratic Party took part in the debates on the main articles of the agenda.There were Professor, Honoured Elder of Turkmenistan N.Suvkhanov, Director of No. 6 secondary school of Kaahka Etrap, Ahal Velayat D.
Gurbanov, shipyard supervisor of Turkmanbashy International Seaport B.Ashyrov, teacher of M.Garliyev Specialized Art School of Dashoguz Velayat G.Ahmedova, Department Director of Magtumguly Turkmen State University, Professor, honoured Elder of Turkmenistan A.
Burunov, responsible official of the Democratic Party committee of Dovletly etrap Sh.Huseinova, specialist of Education Department of Murgap etrap, Mary Velayat A.Hotjiyev and other among the spokespersons.
Speaking of near-term plans, the participants of the session noted an important role of further work for patriotic and moral education of the youth, its wide involvement to active participation in the reforms expanded throughout the country.
After the debates, the Draft Resolution on approval of the report of the Political Council of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan was brought up for the voting and resulted in unanimous adoption.
The decision on release of K. Babayev from the post of the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan due to transfer to another position has been taken.
Ata Serdarov was elected as new Chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan.
Other organization issues, on which relative decisions were made, have been reviewed during the forum.
