Residents in the Netherlands will receive free sunscreen to prevent skin cancer

Against the background of a sharp surge in the incidence of skin cancer in the Netherlands, the residents of the country will be handing out free sunscreen, reports gazeta.ru with reference to The Guardian.

Sunscreens will be distributed in educational institutions, sports fields and public places.

The Dutch government hopes to encourage young people to use sunscreen to reduce their risk of skin cancer.

“We regularly see people enjoying the sun but not taking care of protecting their skin, it’s not good. Children should get used to applying sunscreen from an early age so that it becomes as much a ritual as brushing their teeth”, - emphasized the representative of the authorities.

In addition, dermatologists have proposed converting dispensers installed for hand disinfection during the coronavirus pandemic into containers for storing sun cream.
