Research station "Luna-25" is preparing to enter the circumlunar orbit

The Russian research station Luna-25, which launched on the night of August 11, carried out the first correction of the flight path to the Moon, the MIR 24 portal reported, citing information from Roscosmos.

"Luna-25" was launched for the purpose of landing in the region of the south pole of the Earth's satellite to practice soft landing techniques and study the lunar soil in this area for the presence of water. Shortly after launch, on August 12, Luna-25 temporarily turned on the engines and slightly changed the direction of flight.

Entry into lunar orbit is scheduled for the fifth day after launch, during which time another correction of the flight trajectory will be carried out. On August 21, the research apparatus will land on the moon.
