The concept of school sport will be enshrined in the national legislation of the CIS member states. The relevant law was adopted by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.
School sport includes activities aimed at the physical development and physical training of children studying in educational institutions, preparing for participation in health and fitness and mass sports events.
“The document will help to harmonize national legislation in the field of physical culture and sports, which will expand and intensify humanitarian cooperation in this area.Creation of conditions for development of youth sport is one of the main objectives of the development strategy of physical culture and sport in the states-participants of CIS”, said Deputy Chairman of the Duma International Affairs Committee Irina Rodnina, noting that such a rule has been already enshrined in the legislation of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
The principles of state policy in the field of school sport should be the creation of conditions for the development of school sport, the activities of state authorities, and the expansion of access to physical education and sports for children.
The Council for Physical Culture and Sports of the CIS approved the timing of Games of the CIS countries. They will be held from 4 to 11 September 2021 in Kazan.
