Dunyagozel Begaliyeva, a 5th-year student at the Maya Kuliyeva National Conservatory in Turkmenistan, successfully passed two rounds at the XV Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Young Opera Singers in St. Petersburg.
-Despite the fact that she did not make it to the finals, the members of the international jury highly praised her performance, noting significant progress in skill compared to last year,- the Russian diplomatic mission in Ashgabat said in a statement.
The competition, which attracted 90 participants from 13 countries, attracted the attention of music professionals and opera artists. Begaliyeva, participating in the competition for the second time, demonstrated impressive results, scoring higher than many experienced vocalists already working in opera houses.
The Turkmen singer's program included complex arias in Italian and Russian, as well as romances in German, Russian and French.
