Rents for stores increased in Ashgabat, “Azatlyk”

Radio “Azatlyk” reports that rental costs for stores located in basements have increased several times.

Moreover, the amount of additional fees levied by the municipal authorities on entrepreneurs has also increased. Last week entrepreneurs were notified that agreements for 2018 with increased fees of leased space need to be updated.

“In previous years the rental cost applied only to the retail outlet whereas now toilets and corridors are also included. The rent for 1 square meter has increased from 12 to 63 tenge. Together with VAT of 20%, the cost of 1 square meter has reached 1 manat”, — the Radio source reports.

“Chronicles of Turkmenistan” has previously reported that the rental cost for retail outlets doubled in “Paytagt” bazaar.

Tenants of retail outlets are outraged by the fact that rental costs are constantly being increased whereas further restrictions on withdrawing cash overseas to purchase merchandise are being introduced.

Entrepreneurs report that due to increased costs they are obliged to increase prices for their merchandise.
