In the first semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup, “Real” beat “Atlético” with a score of 5:3 in a bitter fight.
The winners' goals were scored by Rudiger (20th minute), Mendy (29), Carvajal (85), Joselu (116) and Diaz (120+2). Hermoso (7) and Griezmann (37) scored for the losers; in the 78th minute, “Real” goalkeeper Kepa scored the ball into his own goal.
Griezmann scored his 174th goal for “Atlético” in all competitions and broke the club record. Previously, the top scorer was Luis Aragones with 173 goals.
“Barcelona” and “Osasuna” will meet in the second semi-final on January 11. The final will be held on January 14 in Riyadh.
