Rashid Meredov and Ma Xingrui discussed priority areas of strategic Turkmen-Chinese cooperation

The delegation of the People's Republic of China, led by Ma Xingrui, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, held a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, the Watan information program reported.

The parties discussed the priority areas of strategic interstate cooperation, built on a long-term, mutually beneficial basis, exchanged views on the progress of the implementation of agreements reached following the results of earlier Turkmen-Chinese negotiations at the highest level, as well as within the framework of the recent working visit to the PRC of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who took part in the Third High-Level Forum “One Belt, One Road” held in Beijing.

Noting the importance of further expanding the multifaceted bilateral partnership, the meeting participants expressed confidence that the current visit of the Chinese delegation will serve to establish closer cooperation with the largest region of China - the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and establish ties in the fields of agriculture, trade, energy, medicine, education, culture and tourism.
