Rashid Meredov and Alexey Overchuk discussed key aspects of Turkmen-Russian economic cooperation

The meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.

The co-chair of the commission from the Turkmen side is Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, and from the Russian side Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.

The negotiations were held in narrow and expanded formats. The participants of the meetings discussed key aspects of the partnership between the two countries in areas of mutual interest.

The parties noted the importance of this meeting for discussing current issues of cooperation and searching for new forms of joint activities, and also exchanged views on the further implementation of current projects, including in the field of transport and electric power.

The important role of the commission in the development of constructive bilateral partnership and the possibilities for further expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties, including healthcare, science and education, were also emphasized.
