Rare Michael Jordan card sells for record 2,9 million USD

A collectible card with the image and autograph of the legendary basketball player, six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan was sold at auction. The unique lot went under the hammer for a record 2,928 million USD. “MIR 24” reports this.

A total of 38 attempts were made to purchase the card. The winner was an anonymous collector who offered 2,4 million USD for it. However, due to the 22% auction commission, the final transaction amount was 2,928 million USD.

Such a high cost of the card is explained by its rarity. It was a one-off release and features an NBA patch cut from one of Jordan's game jerseys.
