Radio “Azatlyk” posts the video of the mudflow which hit Turkmenistan in August

On 14 August “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” published a report on the mudflow which hit the south of Turkmenistan.

According to our sources, at least one village Kyal-Ata had been destroyed with several dozens of victims being reported.

Today, on 7 September, Radio “Azatlyk” published a video from the scene.

According to the media outlet, several villages including Nokhur, Garavul, Dovgala, Akdepe, Khankariz, Konekesir, Kurujdei, Aydere, Khodjagala, Chukur, Jejrech and Jenneshen were damaged.

The death toll amounted to 30 people.

According to the Radio, several organizations in Archabil district, where the majority of children’s summer resorts are located, had been informed of the disaster. According to sources at “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, several children’s camps were evacuated.

At the same time the residents of the villages which lie on the mudflow route had not been warned about the hazard.
