Qatar and Turkmenistan to Boost Trade With New Business Council

Qatar Chamber (QC) board member Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidly called for the establishment of a Qatari-Turkmen Business Council to boost economic ties between the two countries, The Peninsula newspaper reported on Thursday.

Al Obaidly made the call during a meeting with Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of Turkmenistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in Doha. The meeting discussed ways to develop joint cooperation between Qatari and Turkmen companies.

The QC board member said that the Qatari-Turkmen Business Council will help define the investment climate in Qatar and Turkmenistan and identify investment opportunities.

For his part, the Chairman of the Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry invited Qatari businessmen to learn about investment opportunities in Turkmenistan, especially in agricultural products, oil, gas, energy, petrochemicals, and other sectors. Gurdov stressed that the Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry is ready to assist Qatari investors interested in investing in Turkmenistan.
