Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a working visit to Turkmenistan on October 11 at the invitation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, said Russian leader’s aide Yuri Ushakov, TASS reports.
As part of the visit, Putin will take part in the international forum “Interconnection of Times and Civilizations the Basis of Peace and Development”, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
During his visit to Ashgabat, Putin will also meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The forum is expected to be attended by leaders of more than 10 states, including the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and other countries, as well as heads of international organizations such as the SCO, TURKSOY, CIS and UNESCO.
Putin last visited Turkmenistan in June 2022 to attend the Caspian Summit, where he also met with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
