Putin meets with Iranian President in Ashgabat

The Russian Federation and Iran are actively working in the international arena and are often similar in their assessments of events. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, TASS reports.

“We are actively working together in the international arena, and our assessments of events taking place in the world are often very close”, - Putin noted at a meeting with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

From the Russian side, the negotiations are being attended by the Russian President's aide Yuri Ushakov, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and the head of state's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

The meeting is taking place on the sidelines of the CIS summit in Ashgabat, where the leaders arrived to participate in the international forum “The Interconnection of Times and Civilizations - the Basis of Peace and Development”, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi.
