Principal of Dashoguz school №1 denies her detention

On 11 August “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” reported that the principal of the Dashoguz school №1, who according to our sources is suspected of corruption, was detained.

After the publication the principal personally contacted our editorial office through third parties and assured us that she had not been detained and no corruption charges had been brought against her.

Regrettably, since we keep in touch with the principal only through intermediaries, we have failed to ask her follow-up questions and find out details. Nevertheless, we consider it necessary to publish this information as we are convinced that it was the principal herself who contacted us, though indirectly.

We are inclined to consider the sources, which reported the detention, to be reliable.

We will keep you updated on further developments.
