Princess Diana's “black sheep” sweater sold at auction for 1 million dollars

Princess Diana's sweater was sold at Sotheby's auction in New York for 1,14 million dollars, informs MIA “Kazinform” with reference to BBC News.

Bidding opened on August 31, and the top bid for the sweater remained below 200 000 dollars until the final minutes of the auction.

Sotheby's estimated the value of the knitted lot at 50 000 dollars to 80 000 dollars. The identity of the purchaser has not been disclosed.

The sweater is one of many Princess Diana-related items that have been sold at auction in recent years.

In 2022, Diana's Ford Escort sold for 806 000 dollars, and the amethyst-studded Attallah cross she often wore sold to Kim Kardashian for 203 000 dollars.

Princess Diana's sweater continues to be in high demand among collectors and fans of the royal family.
