Price for a pack of cigarettes in Turkmenistan increases to 25 manats

The price for cigarettes in Ashgabat’s state-run stores has increased from 19 to 25 manats per pack.

On 21 April the Chronicles of Turkmenistan reported that cigarettes again disappeared from state-owned stores of Turkmenistan in April.

Shop assistants say that the verbal instruction has been issued in connection with the “Month of Health” held in the country, but starting from May cigarettes are scheduled to be supplied to retail outlets again.

Cigarettes have been supplied to stores but at a higher price.

Let us recall that on 16 April Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov approved the anti-smoking campaign for the years 2017-2021, pursuant to which Turkmenistan is scheduled to become a smoke-free country by 2025.
