President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Meets New EU Ambassador to Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Turkmenistan Beata Peksa on Tuesday in Ashgabat. During the meeting, Ambassador Peksa presented her credentials to the Head of Turkmenistan.

The EU envoy congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the 32nd anniversary of the Turkmenistan’s independence and conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of the European Council Charles Michel and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the official Turkmen media reports.

President Berdimuhamedov conveyed his best wishes to the EU leadership. He stated that Turkmenistan’s foreign policy attaches great importance to political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation with the EU.

Turkmen President highlighted the successful implementation of technical projects of the EU in Turkmenistan in the fields of science and education, ecology, improvement of legislation, energy, and other areas. The Head of State emphasized that Turkmenistan highly values cooperation with the EU and confirmed its readiness to continue strengthening these fruitful ties.

Concluding the meeting, the EU Ambassador Beata Peksa assured that she would make every effort to further expand the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the EU.
