Today, the construction of a large residential complex "Ashgabat City" was discussed during a working trip of the President of Turkmenistan to the northern part of the capital.
An area of 744 hectares was allotted for the construction of a grandiose complex of more than 200 buildings.The new residential complex is designed to accommodate more than 107 thousand people.
The solemn laying of its foundation took place with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan on May 25, 2021 the Day of the city of Ashgabat and the celebration of its 140th anniversary.
After visiting the “Ashgabat City” construction site today, the head of state focused on the soil condition, as well as on the natural special aspects of the area, noting that the most important requirement of the time is to preserve environmental well-being not only in the capital and its outskirts, but in all regions of the country as well.
This is one of the main conditions for the preparation of projects and the construction of facilities.
Then President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reviewed the Master Plan for the development of this residential complex, street schematic view, as well as designs and drawings for the placement of facilities for various purposes and skyscrapers.
The head of state was shown sketches and drawings of remote operation of smart apartment equipment, in particular, automated control, supply management of water and gas resources, as well as various smart city systems, including the provision of information about electronic vehicles.
Shamukhammet Durdylyev, Head of the Directorate of the Ashgabat City Facilities under Construction of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture, informed the President of Turkmenistan of the announcement of an international bid for the implementation of the “Ashgabat City” project.
After hearing the report, the head of state noted that the possibilities of information and communication technologies, Internet, as well as digital innovations should be used in the construction of a new city, instructing to pay special attention to the management system of all residential structures using the latest technologies.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also said that a special portal "Ashgabat City" was established and launched for the citizens of the country who want to express their opinions related to the construction of this unique residential complex.
According to the preliminary draft of the “Ashgabat City” Master Plan, it will be a new city in the capital, it is planned to erect over 200 skyscrapers, namely, 12-35-storey structures on the territory of the complex.
In this context, the head of state stressed that the required measures should be taken for thorough engineering and exploration work in the place selected for the new city and stabilization of the yielding ground.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused the attention of the audience on the need to use the latest "smart", that is, "clever" technologies in this work, as well as to provide each building and facility with digital equipment and to implement a high-tech digitalization system.
Focusing on the low pace of work in preparation for the construction of a new residential complex, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of the head of the Directorate of Facilities under Construction for the delays in their arrangement and strictly demanded to fix this situation.
