President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting in Ashgabat on Saturday with Iranian Minister of Energy Abbas Aliabadi and Chairman of the Central Bank of Iran Mohammad Reza Farzi, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.
The Iranian delegation conveyed warm greetings from President Masoud Pezeshkian to the Turkmen leader and National Leader Hero-Arkadag, emphasizing the importance of cooperation with Turkmenistan, which confidently advances on the path of progress.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked the Iranian delegation for their kind words and expressed confidence in the effectiveness of the negotiations, which he believed would strengthen bilateral relations and open new opportunities for partnership.
During the meeting, participants noted that the friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Iran, rooted in a deep history, continue to develop today based on mutual respect and understanding. Key areas of cooperation remain in energy, trade and economics, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The head of state emphasized Turkmenistan's readiness to further expand dialogue, especially in the oil and gas sector. He expressed confidence that the joint search for new forms of collaboration and the implementation of promising projects would bring mutual benefits.
The President also highlighted the importance of an environmentally safe approach to implementing energy initiatives and confirmed Turkmenistan's openness to supporting proposals aimed at strengthening bilateral partnership.
At the end of the meeting, both sides exchanged wishes for success and expressed hope for further strengthening cooperation based on friendship and mutual benefit.
On the same day, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with a delegation led by Iranian Minister of Energy Abbas Aliabadi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
