President of Turkmenistan congratulates compatriots...

On the occasion of the World Health Day, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the citizens of Turkmenistan, emphasizing that support of the physical and spiritual health of every citizen of our neutral country, development of sports, and strengthening the principles of a healthy lifestyle is a priority goal.

“Successfully implementing state programmes on modernization of the healthcare sector as the most important factor for achieving sustainable development, we continue comprehensive transformations in this direction.

“As part of the programmes on socio-economic development of the country and the State Health Programme, we have fundamentally reformed the national healthcare system. We have achieved great success in the construction of modern treatment and prevention centres, specialized clinics, health centres, and medical industry enterprises that meet international standards.

“Significant results have been achieved in the development of medical science, the introduction of advanced technologies, increase of the efficiency, accessibility and quality of medical services, and especially in popularizing healthy lifestyle principles, bringing physically and spiritually strong generation.

“The country has accumulated positive experience of international cooperation in the healthcare sphere. Major projects have been implemented together with the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children's Fund, the United Nations Population Fund, the world leading medical and research centres, and our country has received dozens of international certificates.

“At present, we pay particular importance to the widespread use of the best international practices in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.This year, along with social and cultural facilities, the International Burn Centre and the International Treatment and Aesthetic Centre will be opened in Ashgabat, a sanatorium - in the Ak Bugday Etrap, Ahal Velayat and the Infectious Diseases Hospital in the Ahal Velayat.

All this vividly testifies to the ambitious work carried out in Turkmenistan in public health area.

“We have adopted a number of state programmes for their support and development, for training high-class athletes, have given impetus to comprehensive transformations in this direction. As part of the national transformational programmes, great successes have been achieved in promoting the mass physical and health-improving movement and development of sports.

“Large sports and equestrian complexes, stadiums, sports schools, and the Olympic Village that meet international standards were built and put into operation within short timeframes. This allowed us to create a modern sports infrastructure.

“As a member of the International Olympic Committee, the Asian Olympic Council, our country has significantly contributed to the development of the Olympic movement. Using the opportunities of sports in the interests of peace and friendship, Turkmenistan systematically strengthens its partnership with international sports structures.

“The V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, the Amul-Hazar 2018 International Rally, the World Weightlifting Championships have demonstrated to the entire international community that our sovereign state, which is confidently moving forward on the path of peace, creation and progress, has great sports potential.

This is a positive result of the peace-loving, neutral, good-neighborly policy of our independent state, which is aimed at consolidating efforts to strengthen global peace and friendship of peoples”, emphasizes the President of Turkmenistan.

In conclusion, the President of Turkmenistan wished compatriots good health, family well-being and great success in their work.
