President of Turkmenistan congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his election as Prime Minister of Pakistan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory letter to Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on the occasion of his election to the post of Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Information Program "Watan" of the Turkmen Television has reported today.

The Head of state expressed confidence that the multifaceted relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, based on the rich experience of friendship and mutual respect, will be further developed for the benefit of the two peoples.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished Shehbaz Sharif good health and success in all his endeavors aimed at the development and prosperity of the fraternal people of Pakistan.

On April 11, the Pakistani Parliament elected Shehbaz Sharif, the leader of the center-right conservative Pakistan Muslim League Party, as Prime Minister. His predecessor Imran Khan, who represented the centrist Pakistan Movement for Justice, was removed from the office on April 10 as a result of a vote of no confidence.

Shehbaz Sharif, 70, is the younger brother of Nawaz Sharif, who previously headed the Pakistani government three times. The politician was nominated by the country's opposition parties.
